PARTNER is currently supporting Perth Airport in recruiting for a newly created position of Energy Manager. This is a leadership role responsible for managing the timely, accurate and reliable commercial and financial support for energy procurement to the PAPL energy and electrical infrastructure team, supporting asset lifecycle planning, energy procurement, estate energy on-selling (retailing) through market linked supply contracts and related financial/commercial modelling.

The role:
- Manage internal and external stakeholder relationships
- Act as the subject matter expert for all energy matters and drive the development of Perth Airport’s energy strategy
- Developing estate-wide Power Purchase Agreements and other Electricity Supply Agreements while dealing with the development of an auditable energy procurement and billing system.
- Ensure compliance with the Embedded Network Code of Practice and other statutory instruments
- Development and management of PAPL’s Contracted Energy Services (CES) to deliver sustainable emissions-reducing, economically and commercially viable options to PAPL and its connected customers.
- Maintain energy market awareness through engagement and position PAPL to optimise its commercial position through analysis, monitoring and reporting and the development of standards, policies, procedures and systems for energy procurement and customer re-sale and future energy dispatch to the wholesale market.
- Provide business case development support to the electrical infrastructure and energy team.
About You:
The successful candidate will be a proven Energy Market leader with outstanding stakeholder management skills and credibility within the WA energy industry. You will leverage your expertise and relationships to advise and implement an energy strategy for the Perth Airport and its future expansions.
- The ability to build strong and highly collaborative relationships with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders.
- Seek out knowledge and information, effectively communicate the tools and resources required to achieve your energy strategy.
- Commercially astute and experienced with negotiating Power Purchase Agreements, energy trading, and energy tariffs.
- Strong relationships with WA energy market operators such as AEMO, Western Power, Horizon Power, AGL, Alinta, and Synergy.
