PARTNER is currently supporting Perth Airport in recruiting for a Senior Heritage Advisor to join the team. This key role will lead and coordinate engagement with Traditional Owners to implement Perth Airport’s Master Plan, and secure the delivery of necessary heritage approvals and compliance activities to enable development of the Airport Estate.
Your expertise will support and help advise Perth Airport with Aboriginal engagement, employment and embedding Aboriginal heritage considerations within organisational processes and policies.

The Role
- Lead the planning and implementation of heritage surveys, development of Perth Airport’s Aboriginal Cultural and Heritage Master Plan, and any other heritage matters on the Airport Estate.
- Lead the building and maintenance of strong relationships with Traditional Owners groups and individuals both on the ground and at the corporate level.
- Support heritage management of capital projects and operations across the Airport Estate.
- Lead the management of heritage and environmental values and deliver approvals to meet statutory obligations.
- Stakeholder coordination and management.
- Planning and coordination of Partnership Agreement Group (PAG) and Reconciliation Action Plan meetings
- Coordination, development and implementation of a whole of business Heritage Management Framework.
About You
- Tertiary qualifications in Science (or Arts) with a major in Anthropology/Archaeology or an equivalent qualification. Lived and/or demonstrated experience may be considered in lieu of tertiary qualifications.
- Demonstrated experience working in a similar role within a complex stakeholder environment.
- A strong background in Aboriginal stakeholder engagement, with particular focus on engagement with Noongar people.
- Very good working knowledge of relevant federal and state heritage legislation and experience in obtaining Aboriginal heritage approvals.
- An understanding of environmental and heritage compliance and management during development and operations.
- Excellent analytical and writing skills. Highly effective communicator, politically astute, and adept at managing communication strategies.
- An outstanding leader who provides staff with coaching, training and identifies opportunities for growth.
