About the Role: Perth Airport is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Network Manager to join our energy group. This newly created role is integral to supporting the operation of the Perth Airport Power Network (PAPL), ensuring the network’s stability, security, and planning. The Network Manager will oversee the development and management of the 22KV Embedded Distribution Network and other Utility Network Systems, ensuring alignment with our strategic goals for economic, carbon-neutral, and emissions-reducing initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage network and systems engineering, including policies, operating standards, and engineering assessments.
- Develop and implement CAPEX/OPEX investment plans aligned with asset lifecycle management.
- Ensure optimal performance of the engineering/network team, supporting strategic growth and operational excellence.
- Manage the development and continuous improvement of PAPL’s Network Operational Code, Policies, Standards, and Systems.
- Oversee the integration, reliability, and continuity of PAPL’s systems, including SCADA, Zenon, Protection Metering, and Fibre.
- Provide expert advice to senior management and support timely responses to all PAPL planning, projects, and inquiries.
- Ensure compliance with all technical requirements and standards throughout the asset lifecycle.
- Engage with the South West Interconnector System Operator (Western Power) to ensure current and future network demands are met.
- Manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring supply connection agreements and operational protocols are maintained.
About You:
- Proven leader in the renewable energy market with strong technical skills and credibility in the WA energy industry.
- Bachelor’s degree in Power Systems Engineering or similar; additional qualifications in civil, hydraulics, or telecommunications are advantageous.
- Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) or Registered Professional Engineer (RPEQ) preferred.
- Extensive experience in managing power distribution networks, including asset lifecycle planning, management, maintenance, and design.
- Knowledge of energy market operations, utility systems, and emerging technologies is preferred.
- Experience in managing engineering assessments, studies, and modelling, with technical competency across utility systems.
- Strong relationships with state utility authorities and experience in real-time integration of utility network design with GIS/Spatial environments.
